So my eldest and I went off for some supplies; we have a fantastic quilt shop in our local town.
We chose a jelly roll. I know nothing about quilting, so thought it might be the easiest start. Might be, might not...only time will tell.
Lots of beautiful strips of fabric in pinks, yellows, browns and blue (her favourite colour).
But firsts things first, we need to cut some background fabric into strips ready to sew...
We're not scared....

ReplyDeleteMy mum made me a patchwork quilt when I was younger. I can't remember how long it took, but she finished it in 1997 (when I was 12), and we put a patch on the back with the date and a celebratory poem I wrote :)
I still use it all the time, it lives on the back of my sofa for naps and cold nights xx
ah quincifer that's a lovely story - I hope chloe keeps hers (better make it good!) But brilliant idea to put a little patch on it. I'm going to do that too.
