Christmas Goodies

Wow - I have been stunned, amazed, and chuffed to bits by the overwhelming support from my customers over the last few weeks. I don't think I've ever had so many sales and I'm LOVING it.

It's especially gratifying when customers come back for repeat orders. What a confidence boost!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.... and I do hope all the recipients of the goodies are pleased with their gifts. I honestly think there is something really special about receiving something that has been handmade, rather than churned out in a factory. And handmade jewellery is an especially lovely gift (but then, I would say that wouldn't I?).

Remember all of my handmade jewellery is sent gift wrapped, and ready to give (but lovely to keep!). Most items come in white recycled card gift boxes, padded with tissue paper, and tied with red ribbon.

I'm at the post office every day at the moment, and send all of my parcels first class recorded post.

But we're nearing the end of the Christmas period, so I thought I'd better give you a heads up of my last order dates for Christmas presents.

I'm closing shop for a the festive period at the end of Tuesday 18th December.

I'll be back again, freshly stocked and ready for action in 2013. (crikey - 2013!) My Valentines range is already being planned.

Bonfire night....

Remember remember the 5th November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason,
should ever be forgot.

What I've been up to....

Every blog post I write seems to start... "crikey it's been a while since I last posted..." so I won't start this one like that. Nope.

But

well....

you know.

Anyway, what have I been up to? Well, lots of looking after this little bundle of fun..

And getting my christmas stock ready for action.

Yummy green amethyst....

I got some stunning green amethyst recently for a custom order, and was so pleased with them. I used them with a moss aquamarine stone to make one of my trademark silver leaf pendants. A gorgeous combination of green stones.

The amethyst was clear, and mouthwateringly beautiful, so I am thrilled to have a few extra stones to play with.

I've just teamed it with some gold wire to make these beauties... and I'm just making an oxidised sterling version. I'll load them up on the websites later. Would love to hear what you think of them.

Is that the time?

Oh wow, is that the time, five to September already? Cripes. The "summer" (hahahaha) is flying past.

It's funny that my usual feelings over the summer holidays with the girls seem to go...

Weeks 1 - 4 "oh the summer is way too short, I don't want them to go back....sniffle"
Weeks 5 - 6 "is it nearly school time yet?"

Love them as I do, I reckon they're good and rested now and ready for the new term. Then maybe I can have a bit of rest. Or at least make some jewellery!

It's been a busy old summer so far...

We saw the olympic torch come through town....
We saw some olympic cyclists come through town....

And played at being Jessica Ennis in the garden...

We went to Copenhagen for a few days....

They have a particularly wonderful food market there....

Then we welcomed Kipper to his new home...

Goodness me. Having a puppy reminds me of having a baby - up at night, clearing up "accidents". Bless him.

We've got a few more exciting things to do before the holidays are out. Paralympics athletics, friends and family coming to stay. We're also still decorating... the cloakroom, living room, hall, and bathroom are currently "in progress".

But as you can probably tell, jewellery has slipped a little down the list due to the non stop fun-fest in Pearce towers. I've done a few custom orders, and the sales have come in from the web shop - but no new designs or listings for a while. I'm itching to get back to it!

How has your summer been?

Not a lot of jewellery....

Nope, there is not a lot of jewellery being made around here....and it's starting to make me a bit twitchy. The kids first week off school has been pretty eventful though.

For a start we went to choose our puppy.
Now that was difficult. They were all completely adorable. But we chose, eventually, and pick the little fella up in 3 weeks. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek I am beyond excited.

It was quite a trek to get there, so on the way back when we saw a National Trust place en route, we stopped for a bit of a leg stretch. It worked out really well. Wimpole is stunning!

I just wish I could capture the smell of those flowers on my camera, and the warm sun on my back.... ah it was a well spent hour. Hopefully we'll get a chance to pop in again on the way to pick the puppy up!

The rest of the week has been pretty fun packed too... .more of which later!
