....and hello 2013.
I admit I'm usually itching to get the house cleaned up and "de-Christmassed" from Boxing Day onwards, but now it's all over and the dust has settled, the house seems so empty without the Christmas decs... And it'll be even emptier tomorrow when the kids go back. (sniffle)
I just couldn't say goodbye to some bits of Christmas, so this will be hanging on our back gate for a little while.
But truly, if I never see another piece of cheese again it'll be too soon.
I can't wait to get back to work properly tomorrow. I have a feeling 2013 is going to be a very good year. I've got lots of ideas - I just need to make them real.
Happy (slightly belated) New Year to you all.

New Studio - Update
Our builders have been really cracking on with the build. It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow. (Is that all??)
And my new studio has changed from this....
To this...
and yesterday the front wall started going up...!
I must point out that I'm only having a teeny corner of what was the garage, not the whole thing (now wouldn't that be nice?) but I do know I'm a very lucky girl to be getting a little room I can leave all my stuff out in. Not ideal to have oxygen and propane tanks in reach of the kids!

We're in!
That's it, I'm never moving again!
It took a lot longer than expected to get the telephone line and therefore broadband working again, but it's done so I'm back online and raring to go....ish.
The new house is lovely - we're thrilled with it, it's so much better than we thought it was going to be. Isn't it funny how you spend so much money on a house that you only see a few times?
And the garden is beautiful (before I've got my hands on it). It's going to be so much fun seeing what pops up over the year. I've got a feeling it's going to keep me busy though! I think I need to go on a course so I can finally learn what's a weed and what's not as opposed to my usual gardening technique of pulling up anything that's growing too well, because it's obviously a weed.
At the moment we've got some blossom. I think blossom in the spring is such a treat after the dark, grey winter. I'm loving seeing the pink trees all over the place.
And guess what else we've got in the garden.....
....nope, I don't mean the pond... look closer.....
I went out this morning to see about 10 frogs, all gathered around their spawn. I'm such a kid at heart, but I'm soo excited!
Hope you're all well out there, and enjoying the fab spring weather!

We've Moved
(Change of address card by jackandellapaper )
Well we did it. We're in, and moved.
I have spent weeks, sorting, packing, lifting, lugging, unpacking, resorting, moving things to better places..... and we are finally done. Just a few pesky boxes lingering in the spare room, but the rest of the house is unpacked.
So, after a few weeks silence, Red Bird Jewellery is back, and ready for business! And I'm so happy to be back.
It's been very strange not making any jewellery, or working on the business over the last month or so, but I think it's done me the world of good. Hardly a rest, but an imposed step back from my jewellery obsession has given me lots of ideas, and can't wait to get cracking.
I know it's only October, but the count down to Christmas has begun here, and I'll be running some special sales and giveaways to get your festive shopping off to a flying start. (Please tell me you haven't started already, that's just way to organised!)
Keep an eye out for my first FANTASTIC giveaway popping up later this week with a featured seller interview. They have one of my fave shops on Etsy...sorry not revealing any more about it until tomorrow! You'll just darn well have to check back!

Moving on
Well the summer is over for us (I know for some it's been over for a while) but the girls went back to pre-school and school on Wednesday *sniff*
I have to admit to being a little sad, its been a fun summer, and the first one that I haven't been working and stressed, or dealing with a teeny baby. But half term is just around the corner, and it's not like we haven't got quite a lot on in the next few weeks.
We put our house on the market in the first week of the summer holidays, and we exchanged yesterday! EEEEEeeeeeeep. Now we just need to pack, move and sort our selves out in the new place. The big day is in 2 weeks time. Best get cracking! OOOh and look at that lavender - must harvest some of that before we go.
It's good to move on, I know that its the right thing, but I do love "our" little house, where the kids have been babies, and grown up.
In the meantime Red Bird Jewellery is on a back burner whilst I pack, sort, organise, change address details on a million things, etc... you know the routine.
I'm hoping to be back with a vengence at the beginning of October in time for the Christmas rush!
