Spring Summer 2011

I've just been doing a little window shopping for summer clothes. I don't usually go for the latest trends, but there's a lot I like out there at the moment.

I love the "sugar spice" look, all lacey, swishing pleats, and soft colours - very girly and romantic,

(Valentino SS11)

and after THAT dress, (sorry that'll be Kate Middletons wedding dress for the non brits out there!) I'm thinking the lace trend is going to go a bit crazy.

I love this top on modcloth

...maybe with a swirly skirt, and ballet flats. Lovely!

And this dress is pretty gorgeous too... Also from Modcloth. A shame it's a US website I want one! Now.
Going with the whole girly trend, I've just ordered some more rose quartz, so look out for some more girly jewellery from me soon...

Do you like the girly look?

Treasure hunt

I hope you all had a great Easter. The weather was fantastic, so the girls had a little easter egg hunt in the garden. I can't believe I had my winter coat on again today, yet on Sunday we were worried about the eggs melting in the garden while they were looking.

Aha..... spotted them!

Do you like the girls skirts. I got a little over excited over the Easter break and actually got my sewing machine out. I know they're nothing fancy, and the seams'll probably go in the first wash, but hey I'm feeling pretty darn proud of myself.

I followed this simple skirt tutorial.....

and trust me - it was really simple.

I'm also making some of these circle skirts but stalled trying to get hold of the right size elastic and have ground to a halt now... maybe in the summer hols when I get all domestic again!

For now, it's my first free morning for ages, and here I am on the computer, so I'm going to turn it off and go make some jewellery!

Blossom

Yes, I know I know, I've probably mentioned it before, but I do love blossom. And this year (according to my friends who know about this stuff) has been a particularly good year for it.

The trees are covered in it, so much so that I've been cutting it to bring a little indoors.

With all the good weather we've been having the plants in the garden have shot up and are just about ready to show off their summer colours. I can't wait to see what appears.

Here are some spring goodies handmade by me...
Handmade necklace, with fine silver handcrafted leaf, rose quartz and pearl. Perfect with your girlie pastels for a feminine spring look.

Delicate rose quartz handcrafted earrings with sterling silver and crystals.

Etsy Treasuries

I love love LOVE it when I notice I've been featured in an Etsy Treasury. It's such a nice suprise! Treasurys are one of my favourite etsy features.

Here are some I've been featured in this month, aren't they gorgeous collections? You can click on them to go through to the original treasury and, if you like, leave a comment - people always love to get a comment on their collections. Or you can go through and look at an item in more detail.

and some gorgeous pastels....

Brrrr....when winter won't let go...

Don't worry winter is closely followed by the Spring....(how great is that bird photo? - love it)

And finally a fantastic collection from the lovely DLC..

I'm going to actually get around to putting some together myself this week - I'll let you know how it goes!

Jewellery giveaway!!!

At the beginning of the year I joined the Starving Artists Team. Last year I spent ages on the team forum, and picked up so many tips, tricks; honestly I learnt LOADS - what a talented and clever bunch they are. So when the opportunity came up to be a part of the team I jumped at it.
